The latest post by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, about the BTI 2026 Report for Southeast Europe—where the border between Kosova and Serbia is shown with dashed lines, indicating Kosova as part of Serbia—could have been considered a mistake or a lack of vigilance if it had been someone else.
But not Edi Rama. It is hard to believe that such serious mistakes would pass him so easily. More convincingly, since he left his drawings and began engaging in politics, he has consistently acted against the interests of Kosova, Albania, and the entire Albanian nation, in favor of Serbian racism and hegemonism.
With extraordinary dedication, he has openly and continuously acted to deny the Serbian genocide against Albanians and to rehabilitate the criminal Vučić and his fascist clique. His embraces with him were repulsive.
The countless Serbian massacres were, for him, merely “skirmish.” He introduced a new doctrine according to which criminal Serbia must first be forgiven for its crimes, and only then will it ask for forgiveness. He influenced corrupt officials in Kosova to grant amnesty for crimes on one side, while on the other hand contributing to the creation of the Special Court to punish only Albanians.
He was the main factor in sending the former President of Kosova, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, to trial in The Hague. Now he makes empty statements about his release, misleading Thaçi’s supporters and causing division among the people of Kosova.
The centuries-old Dardanian lands in northern Kosova, for him, are lands belonging to no one. Even more dangerous were his efforts, together with Vučić, Thaçi, and Grenell, to partition Kosova as the first step toward eliminating it as a state. Then, with the infamous “Open Balkan” project, he would unite Albania with Serbia, fulfilling Serbia’s long-standing dream of access to the sea.
His joint article with the criminal Vučić about entering the European Union together—without veto rights for Serbia and Albania—while bypassing the key condition of recognizing Kosova, and presenting Kosova on the map as part of Serbia, represent the peak of Mr. Rama’s hostile actions.
These are not unintentional mistakes, but conscious actions, planned carefully, aimed at damaging Kosova’s international image and dividing and dismantling its statehood. Updating the post after widespread criticism has no value. It does not even occur to him to apologize for offending the people of Kosova, especially the victims of the Serbian occupier.
Actions in Serbia’s interest are covered up by Rama with empty, pompous statements without any real effect on the ground, such as “Kosova is independent” said in Belgrade, “Down with the Hague court,” “Freedom for Thaçi,” “Albania stands with Kosova in case of conflict,” etc. Although everything is clear, his supporters in Albania and some from the non-constructive opposition in Kosova choose to believe and be deceived.
The reasons for his anti-Albanian actions are numerous and require deep, documented analysis. They range from unhealthy egocentrism, inferiority toward Serbs, desire for attention, personal benefits, to possible Serbian traps involving blackmail through various low means.
Fortunately, all his efforts so far to destroy Kosova have failed disgracefully, thanks to the unwavering and vigilant Prime Minister of Kosova, Mr. Albin Kurti, along with his associates such as Glauk Konjufca and Donika Gërvalla, supported until recently by the President of Kosova, Mrs. Vjosa Osmani.
Kosova’s leaders do not have it easy in countering the Prime Minister of the mother state, but they must do so with great care, through tactics, politics, and refined diplomacy—without confronting him directly, but focusing only on the harmful and dangerous issues he represents.
It remains a primary duty of all independent intellectuals and national figures to expose, with facts and arguments, the bad and harmful Prime Minister for Albania and the Albanian nation, Edi Rama.
